After graduating at the University of the Witwatersrand with a BA LLB, I served articles and practiced as an attorney for a number of years before joining the Bar which I did in 1990.
My practice at the time centred around commercial litigation in trials and applications and the concomitant drafting of affidavits, opinions and pleadings.
Since taking Silk, my practice has centred around family law and the many and varied aspects of other aspects of law which impact on family law itself.
I have been involved in a number of high profile cases such as Montari which dealt with the issue of living annuities, Hummel dealing with the powers of a case manager / parenting co-ordinator and Fowkes which dealt with the interpretation of an antenuptial contract and the issue of accruals.
I have also sat a number of times as an acting judge in various courts and I have also acted as an arbitrator and mediator many times both in family related matters and commercial matters.
