Robert Wise is an eminent senior practitioner with over forty years experience at the Bar. He took Silk in 1986 and is known for his assured handling of contractual and administrative disputes and commercial claims.

Throughout his career Robert has had experience in an extensive array of practice areas in public and private law. He has a comprehensive understanding of general issues in delict and has successfully dealt with construction, personal injury and medical claims.

Prior to joining the Bar, Robert worked as an attorney, completing his articles at Edward Nathan Friedland, Mansell & Lewis. In his years of practice Robert has been active on the Johannesburg Bar Council. He has also served as an acting judge in the Johannesburg High Court.

Extramurally, Robert played league squash for over twenty five years and—at different times—was chairman of the Transvaal Squash Racquets Association and the South African Squash Racquets Association. He was a member of the National Executive Committee of the National Sports Council.

Robert took door membership at the Bridge Group in September 2017.
