Khanya-Khanyiso Gwaza

Having completed his pupillage under Michael Mbikiwa, Khanya-Khanyiso joins the bar as a seasoned professional with a diverse and transferable skill set. His multifaceted career began as an Economic Research Assistant to the late liberation stalwart Prof. Ben Turok, followed by serving in the South African National Defence Force Reserves, showcasing his commitment to his country. Notably, Khanya-Khanyiso worked as a Management Consultant for a tier-1 consulting firm, excelling in growth strategy, organizational transformation and culture redesign.

As a student at the University of Cape Town, Gwaza led numerous student governance structures, championing accountability and transformation. His outstanding leadership earned him both the trust of his peers and recognition from the institution, culminating in a Vice Chancellor’s award and election to the SRC with the second-highest votes.

Later in life, Khanya-Khanyiso pivoted to law, earning his LLB (with distinction) from Wits, while receiving accolades such as the Norton Rose Fulbright prizes for Property and Intellectual Property, and the Allen & Overy scholarship.
