Karabo Raganya

Prior to joining the bar, Karabo completed articles at a leading law firm where she gained experience in mining, construction and occupational health and safety law.

She was admitted as an attorney in 2018 and advised briefly on commercial and employment related matters before her call to the bar in 2019.

Her practice areas are constitutional, administrative, commercial, employment and mining law.

IMPORTANT DECISIONS:

Qwelane v South African Human Rights Commission [2021] ZACC 22: successful amicus intervention for the Nelson Mandela Foundation in a landmark Constitutional Court hate speech case.

Nelson Mandela Foundation v Afriforum [2019] ZAEQC 2; 2019 (6) SA 327 (GJ): successful application for an order declaring that gratuitous displays of the pre-1994 South African flag constitute hate speech.
